Hemp

I'm not going to argue the merits of  marijuana and whether it should be legalized for recreational purposes. Though I have my personal thoughts over alcohol vs pot, but that can be a different post.

There are so many benefits from growing hemp, from reduction of oil use to clothing and paper products. It's so strange that we don't take this gift from God and nature to use for the good of mankind.
I'm only talking about the plant, or plant parts, that doesn't have THC. You can't get high off of it.
Think about all the trees we would save if we didn't have to cut them down for paper.

In world war two it was encouraged by the government to grow hemp to help the war effort.

Henry Ford wanted to use hemp fuel to run the vehicles he made, and made a car from hemp that was similar to plastic and ran on hemp fuel.

Now I'm not a huge fan of Ford because of his racist views against Jews. He even published newspapers in the 20's with stories of his views on them, which were not good. I cannot respect any person that acts or believes it is OK to think ill of others just because they are different, but I do respect his accomplishments.
He never wanted cars to run on gasoline, but on hemp, and it's a shame this didn't come to pass.
I can't even imagine how different our lives would be.
